I love this place! If I could eat here everyday I would. I have tried several items on the menu and have never been disappointed. Love their salsa and cheese dip. Always very friendly, and always clean. There is absolutely nothing bad to say!

Chips and salsa were great! Being from Texas I tend to be weary of Mexican food from Mid-West restaurants, but I was impressed by this place. I got the fried tacos, two chicken and two beef, and thoroughly enjoyed them. My friend got the Tacos Nortanos and thought they were great. The dinners come with the typical rice and refried beans which tasted like they usually do. Overall, I enjoyed this place and would go back, but it is a little out of the way.

My favorite local Mexican restaurant by far. Clean, friendly, and above all, awesome food. Best salsa and cheese dip (and I've been around. I'm a cheese dip connoisseur) and just damn good food. Also have to mention that not only is the service friendly, but the food usually comes out super quick too.

First time I've been to this place and it's just up the street from. It's small and I think it was called something else before. It was really clean And the service was great. I had the Chicken Fajita dinner and it was very good. It was sizzling when it came out. The chips and salsa they bring out were really good as well, the chips were warm. I will diffenently go back to this place.

Absolutely my favorite Mexican restaurant. The service is always spectacular. The best salsa verde around. The food is always well prepared. The atmosphere is very vibrant with bold colors and an authentic Texmex feel. I recommend La Casona to every one who finds themselves in High Ridge.

Nice place. I've at this when it was el paisanos due to close area to a friends and a body shop I use. Seen the new name and ownership so I stopped in 2 different times. Good service and the place was clean. Menu is typical of Mexican American restaurants. Had the combo fajitas once and steak burrito the other. Both were good portion and flavorful! The chips and salsa, beans and rice were also good!

Really like this place. Good food, friendly wait staff & ownership. I cant remember everyones' order. I had Pancho Villa fajitas. The drinks are insane. Beer-rita is ridiculous, Green Monkey is delicious. We will return.

Excellent service and fantastic food! Their menu is huge and has some great authentic Mexican cuisine on it. This time I had their Macho Nachos - heaped with beef and chicken, last time I had their awesome Tacos El Pastor. My waiter Roland went above and beyond, and did a great job.

I've been to La Casona once so far. The food was really good, even the chips that were on the table. Nice atmosphere. The waitress was a little hard to understand, but I expect that when eating at a real Mexican restaurant. Downside: the booth was very uncomfortable, no padding at all. I would have liked to hang out longer, but it was about as cushy as a picnic table at the park. Overall: I like this place, and am glad to have something a little different from the status quo a mile or two from my house. I will definitely go again and recommend to a friend.

My wife, daughter, and I ate there for the first time for Sunday dinner (2012-04-29). The service was fast and friendly, and the food was very good. My wife got the Burrito Colorado w/ steak in a verde sauce and I ordered their Dinner Special (a sample including a pork tamale, beef taco, beef enchilada, chile relano, bean tostado, rice, and beans). It was a lot of food for the price (which was reasonable). The food came out fast and was fresh. The only downside, if you can call it that, was I would have liked a thicker salsa with more of a kick. But all in all a great local restaurant that we will visit. We hope it lasts.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
